Tranby Centre, Perth, Western Australia

She was approaching the front door of UnitingCare West's Tranby Centre one morning, as the sun rose over Perth, in Western Australia...so i asked her to smile.

🙏❤️ This is #2 of 5, in our collaboration with UCW and their #TransformTranby initiative. The images are part of the #EndHomelessnessWA campaign, and were made in Perth, at UCW's inner city 'Tranby' centre.

I spent two days there talking to and making images of people who were till then strangers to me. This mini-series coincidentally also marks so i asked them to smile's 300th smile.

Overall the vast majority of visitors I met, regardless of the challenge that brought them to Tranby, were open and happy to talk to me with an honesty I found deeply refreshing. I thank them for their time.
