She was walking on a narrow cement path one evening, cutting through the lush wheat fields, simple homes, and water channels of the remote plateau village of Turtuk, as the barren mountains looked down in envy in Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, near the border of India and Pakistan...so I asked her to smile.
